Giant Crystal Cave: An Underground Wonder!

Ever Widening Circles

The ground beneath our feet is filled with endless wonders, but the Giant Crystal Cave in Mexico has to be one of the most awe-inspiring!

Let’s head to the Giant Crystal Cave in Naica, Mexico. Where, in 2000, miners discovered caves filled with giant crystals. This wonder is truly incredible!

How did these incredible formations come to be? For the science behind these mind-boggling crystals, we turn to SciShow!

Why It Matters

Places like the Crystal Cave remind us of how many treasures are on this planet that we know nothing about! We don’t have to fly to far distant planets to uncover the stuff of imagination, it is here, on this Earth.

There are so many places on this planet that we have yet to discover. From our deepest oceans to corners of remote mountains we have so much more to explore!

Let's Talk About It
  1. What about these caves would you like to learn more about?
  2. What are the kinds of things we could learn from the exploration of remote places like the crystal caves?
  3. Where are some unique places you’d like to explore more? Why?

SciShow

SciShow explores the unexpected. Seven days a week, Hank Green, Michael Aranda, and Olivia Gordon delve into the scientific subjects that defy our expectations and make us even more curious!
