Do you ever get sick of feeling like you can’t make a difference in your community NOW?
This video highlights two young people who haven’t waited to start changing the world in a big way! Melati and Isabel Wijsen worked tirelessly on a campaign to save their home island of Bali from the choking grip of plastic bags. In their TED talk, the sisters describe how they didn’t let their youth stop them from working to improve their home. The journey to get plastic bags out of Bali was a long one, but these two continue undaunted in the face of difficulty.

Why It Matters
Isabel and Melati are proving that taking care of our Earthly home is a job for everyone. Though they were only ten and twelve years old when they started, these young women are still changing the world for the better by breaking the stranglehold of single-use plastic bags on the environment. This story reminds us that we all have the power to change the world, no matter how small we feel.
